چکیده

Antibacterial wound dressings have great importance to reduce infections caused by bacteria. In this research work, levofloxacin-loaded silk fibroin and chitosan composite scaffolds were synthesized for effective dressing applications. Initially, was degummed extraction of fibroin, it mixed with at different ratios. The stirred room temperature get soluble clear gel formation. Afterward, citric acid poured into the solution more 30 min a homogeneous solution. dried using vacuum oven 40 °C 48 h. Next, loaded levofloxacin HCL 24 h temperature. prepared characterized scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. antibacterial activity evaluated agar disc diffusion method. results FTIR proved that cross-linked chitosan. SEM EDX demonstrated successful loading onto scaffolds. Moreover, scaffold samples confirmed sustained drug release properties. All an appropriate agent could effectively inhibit growth

Antibacterial and Wound Healing Properties of Thymol (Thymus vulgaris Oil) and its Application in a Novel Wound Dressing

Background: In developing new products for skin care and wound treatment, biocompatibility plays a major role in the choice of ingredients. Thymol, an essential oil extracted from thyme plant, exhibits outstanding antibacterial properties, but more importantly, it proves to be much more compatible to skin cells in comparison to some conventionally used antibiotic drugs and chemicals. Objectiv...

Composite electrospun nanomembranes of fish scale collagen peptides/chito-oligosaccharides: antibacterial properties and potential for wound dressing

PURPOSE The objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the antibacterial properties and the biocompatibility of composite electrospun nanofibrous membranes (NFMs) with low-molecular-weight fish scale collagen peptides (FSCP) and chito-oligosaccharide (COS), to determine their potential for use as wound dressings. METHODS Low-molecular-weight FSCP were combined with COS to prepare ...

Hydrophobic Drug-Loaded PEGylated Magnetic Liposomes for Drug-Controlled Release

Less targeted and limited solubility of hydrophobic-based drug are one of the serious obstacles in drug delivery system. Thus, new strategies to enhance the solubility of hydrophobic drug and controlled release behaviors would be developed. Herein, curcumin, a model of hydrophobic drug, has been loaded into PEGylated magnetic liposomes as a drug carrier platform for drug controlled release syst...
